NHSN CDI Baseline Data Deadline is January 10, 2018
All Data For March 1, 2017, Through December 31, 2017,
Must be Submitted by January 10!
December 2017 is the last month of the baseline period for this Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) initiative. All of the data for the period between March 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017, must be entered by January 10, 2018, for us to calculate a baseline rate.

CDI Intervention Kick-Off Webinar
January 17, 2018 | 2 to 3 p.m. ET

The 2018 goal for the cohort is to reduce the rate of CDIs in Florida nursing homes.
We will be kicking off the new year with a webinar to discuss our 2018 goals, how to use Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) to drive change, NHSN data analysis, and tools and resources that will be available to help you improve resident care.
2017 NHSN Annual Survey and
´╗┐Agreement to Participate

A new annual survey for calendar year 2017 (January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2017) will need to be submitted to NHSN, as well as an updated electronic agreement to participate. HSAG will contact nursing homes with further information and support. This information will need to be submitted by February 15, 2018.
QIO Program Nursing Home Training Sessions

The national QIO program released a training series to help nursing home staff implement antibiotic stewardship and prevent C. difficile infections. Look for monthly emails with specific guidance in these areas. In addition, all are welcome to explore the site and use the tools and information right now. For more information, click here.

In order to calculate an accurate baseline rate, the CDC needs all data to be entered by January 25, 2018.
