Welcome back to everyone who spent part of the summer escaping the Texas heat. We hope you enjoyed your time away, and we are glad to have you home as we head into a busy fall season at Quail Point Lodge.

Following the retirement of our former POA Director, Erin Welch has accepted the role of General Manager of the Horseshoe Bay POA. Erin, Kirstie Dilworth, and Whit Holcomb will continue working together to care for POA properties and offer a wide variety of activities and events at Quail Point Lodge.

You can always visit www.hsbpoa.org for the latest calendar, financial information, policies, and Board updates. If you are new to the Horseshoe Bay POA, please remember to register for access to the members section of the website.

One small office change: beginning in September, the POA office will close for lunch each day from noon to 1:00 PM.

The Board will review and approve the new 2026–2027 operations and capital projects budget at its September meeting, and the new budget will take effect October 1, 2026. Based on feedback from our member survey, the priority capital project will be adding decking and a cover to the exterior patio at Quail Point Lodge, with construction currently planned for August 2027.

The engraved member pavers currently in place will be preserved and incorporated into the patio border and other access areas around Quail Point Lodge. Members may also continue purchasing engraved pavers to recognize their families or memorialize someone special.

More than 90 residents joined us for an excellent Community Education program with the City of Horseshoe Bay about roundabouts and the future of traffic control in our community. Here is a recap of the event, including what happened and the materials presented. The presentation helped explain the planning, safety considerations, and research behind the proposed improvements. Click here to learn more about the plans for Horseshoe Bay roads.

We also have several events coming up in September. On September 9, our Community Education series will feature a presentation on the trails and parks of Horseshoe Bay. On September 22, we will host the City of Horseshoe Bay Town Hall, where City leaders will discuss the Comprehensive Plan. Then, on September 30, the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance will host Coffee & Conversation at Quail Point Lodge.

Looking a little further ahead, save the date for Fall Fest and Chili Cook Off on October 22 and Trunk or Treat on October 30. We look forward to seeing you at Quail Point Lodge this fall!

"It was truly an honor to spend ten wonderful years with the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners Association.

When I accepted the position, I knew I was joining an organization dedicated to serving this community. I didn't realize how deeply this community would become part of my life. Over the past decade, Horseshoe Bay became much more than a workplace; it became a second home filled with remarkable people, lasting friendships, and memories made.

Looking back, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together. We improved our parks, trails, and community facility. We enhanced events that brought neighbors together, strengthened communications with our members, and worked through challenges that tested us but ultimately made us stronger. Every project, event, meeting, and decision reflected our shared commitment to making this community the best it could be.

None of these accomplishments happened because of one person. They happened because of dedicated employees who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, volunteers who generously gave their time, Board members who provided leadership and guidance, and residents who cared deeply about this community. It has been my privilege to work alongside each of you.

To our staff, thank you for your professionalism, your dedication, and your willingness to go above and beyond every single day. You are the heart of this organization, and I have learned as much from you as I hope you've learned from me.

To the Board of Directors past and present, thank you for your confidence, support, and partnership. While we didn't always agree on every issue, we shared the same goal of serving the members of this association with integrity and responsibility.

To the volunteers, your passion has made Horseshoe Bay a stronger and more connected community. Your willingness to step forward and serve has inspired me throughout my tenure. Thank you to everyone who prepared this reception. From the beautiful decorations to the tasty treats to the incredible attendance, I truly am humbled by your kindness.

As I retire, I leave with a heart full of gratitude. Leadership is never about one individual—it is about building something that continues to grow long after you're gone. I have every confidence that the future of the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners Association is bright because of the talented people who will continue this important work.

I'm looking forward to slowing the pace, spending more time with my family, and maybe even enjoying a few mornings without checking my email first.

Thank you for ten unforgettable years, and for trusting me to serve this incredible community. It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my career. I wish each of you continued success, good health, happiness, and many exciting years ahead.

God bless you all."
