AD Overview: “What is SASD and what do we do?”

I am often asked, “What do you do for work?”. After 20 years in Human Services, I am both used to this question and still surprised to get this question, especially from some family members (talking to you Uncle Michael). I like to answer by telling the story of a typical client and highlighting the work of someone who provides the service. I feel that the stories of real people (as well as understanding the systems created by them) are vital to understand the important work of Human Services.

Our whole department has been working hard over the summer to improve processes, coordinate and streamline services, and take a more active approach to case management. Several neighborhoods have already made great improvements in these areas.
