"Our "rabbit shack" actually used to be part of a barn, which we took down. It's not glamorous but it's a large space for our bunnies to run free and play. Our indoor space is about 20 ft by 20 ft. My husband has been making ramps and other obstacles to keep them busy, and the space is insulated and heated for the cold months. We live on a farm so we have an abundance of straw to use for bedding and hay as part of their diet. The indoor space connects to an outdoor space through a bunny door (however, this is locked up during the cold months). The outdoor space is 20 ft by 15 ft, which has a tall fence. As bunnies love to dig holes, we had to do a bit of digging ourselves to place wire under the ground and cover it with dirt. This prevents them from digging out and coyotes from digging in."
