Trojan News
Fifteen 8th grade students at our HSJA have earned Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certifications in Microsoft Word, in Ms. Todd’s Computerized Business Applications (CBA) class. This official testing process confirms to employers that an individual is highly proficient at working within a specific Office program such as Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. While MOS Certifications are available to HSWCHS CBA students, this is the first time that 8th grade students have the same opportunity. Read more, here.
The HSSD is proud to announce that 20 students have received an Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy, which is a national certification that encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices. The Seal of Biliteracy becomes a permanent honor and skill placed on each student’s transcript. Read more, here.
This week’s shoutout is to all of you working so hard to prepare our students for upcoming tests. I want to encourage each of you during what I know is a hard push in the coming weeks not only because of testing, but also as we motivate ourselves to be great, inspiring leaders for our kids during the final nine weeks. Those tests are important - yes, but what is most important is the relationships that you have built with our students and the memorable impact that your professional expertise as an educator has made on the kids in this district. Keep working hard, and hang in there! I also want to share an anonymous shoutout to our Jr. High Lady Trojans Track Team. See full Trojan Good Things, here.
