#HTCommencement Reunites Campus Community

The Huston-Tillotson University Campus Community was reunited last Saturday morning as the Commencement Convocation for the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 was held on the HT Athletic Field.

Huston-Tillotson University, in partnership with Apple and Tennessee State University, completed its first Coding and Creativity C2 Center camp this week.

Huston-Tillotson C2 [Coding & Creativity] Center Coding & App Development Bootcamp 2021

hosted a dozen high school-aged youth from the Excellence and Advancement Foundation, dedicated to disrupting the relationship between race, schooling, and incarceration.

"The experiential learning that took place this week with youth across the Austin community truly embodied the tenets of C2 Coding & Creativity," said Dr. Jennifer Miles, Huston-Tillotson's C2 Project Director. "As each session progressed, witnessing students gain confidence in mastering the SWIFT coding language felt rewarding. I applaud Dr. Abena Primo on her well-structured curriculum that took each learner from beginner level, to distinguished coders.

"Huston-Tillotson is honored to have partnered with the Excellence and Advancement Foundation. We are certain that our C2 Center has prepared each student with the knowledge and motivation needed to thrive in today’s digital market."
