Homecoming Week 2022 Is Here

Huston-Tillotson University will celebrate homecoming in person for the first time since 2020 with a full week of activities and festivities.

"Back In Full Effect: A fRAMily Reunion" runs Feb. 13-19 with seven days of fun with something for everyone.

Critically Acclaimed "The 1619 Project" Campus Book Club Selection For February

HT’s Black History Month 4^th Annual Book Club featuring Nikole Hannah-Jones’ The 1619 Project. Event is open to campus and Austin community.

Both hard copy and e-books are available Feb. 1. Contact Downs-Jones Library for a free copy. The read-in is scheduled for Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. via zoom.

HT Partners With Austin Links, Dress For Success To Support Career Journeys

Huston-Tillotson University (HT) is teaming up with Dress for Success Austin (DFSA) and The Austin (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated to help its students prepare for employment through a career mentorship program and professional clothing boutique.

The mentorship program arms participants with the lifelong skills they need to secure gainful employment, while the Green Door boutique will provide complimentary professional clothing. The Green Door Boutique will also present a new opportunity for HT students to receive complimentary professional clothing on campus.

“We are elated to partner with The Austin Links and Dress For Success Austin,” said Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette, HT president. “This collaboration will further prepare and empower the young ladies of our #GeniusGeneration. These investments today will yield long-term dividends in their future by making available to our young women everything they need to dress for success.”

HT, Texas Preparatory School, ATX Urban League Partner To Build Young Gardeners

The Institute for Justice and Equity at Huston-Tillotson (IJE) will host a free Legal Clinic on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from Noon-2 p.m. in the Davage-Durden Student Union. The event is free and open to the public, and HT students are encouraged to attend.

Just because a case is dismissed by a judge does not automatically mean it is removed from the official record. It can have long-term ramifications that can affect a person’s ability to gain future employment, housing, or more. There will be separate stations for help with driver’s license recovery and expunction and sealing of criminal records.
