Ram Career Connections Welcomes New HT Students
The fifth class of Huston-Tillotson University’s Ram Career Connections program began this week during a virtual orientation as some of the newest members of the #GeniusGeneration began their HT journey.
A total of 20 students from Texas to Nigeria participated in the program’s opening, with the goal of providing a seamless path from college to career.
As a part of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Career Pathways Initiative, students who are considering majoring in business administration, communication, computer science, criminal justice, education, kinesiology, mathematics, or music have the opportunity to engage in a four-year individualized academic experience that will lead to a career upon graduation.

Faculty Leads HT Campus
Awareness Of FinTech
| |
|
A trio of Huston-Tillotson University faculty members are leading the charge to inform the campus community of the growing importance of financial technology and what it means moving forward.
Dr. Abena Primo, Dr. Derrick Bonyuet, and Dr. Azubike Okpalaeze are leading the way to expand knowledge of FinTech at HT. The articles aim to inform the campus on hot blockchain topics like cryptocurrencies, yield farming, centralized finance (CEFI), and decentralized (DEFI).
The project is funded by a 2021 Innovation Grant from the FinTech Center at Morgan State University.
"FinTech is a field that is filled with exciting new innovations in payments processing, cryptocurrencies, crowd funding, etc.," said Dr. Primo. "As a faculty member of the School of Business and Technology and as a Computer Science Professor, I am very aware of the potential opportunities this field has for students to start businesses and to contribute to the scientific advancement of the field. Hence, when I saw the grant opportunity at Morgan State University, I was excited to apply."
