Tip from the Training Room
Client In-Take

You've taken a facilitation course and now it's time to sit down with your first client. Where do you start? What information should you gather?

This intake form will walk you through a meeting with a client to identify their current situation and facilitation needs. Being able to meet your client where they are will give insight to how you design the facilitation, and what you will need to deliver for a successful session.
Celebrating Black History Month
As we celebrate Black History Month, join us in acknowledging, honoring, and appreciating the strength and resilience of the Black Community, who are making history today. Our history is our story, let’s never forget where we came from and let’s always remember that tomorrow is up to us!

At HueLife, we pledge to creating opportunities for every human story to be heard, every perspective to be considered and every voice respected and appreciated. Only by including all sides of the story, can we truly imagine a world of peace and prosperity for all people.

This month, we celebrate our black heroes, partners, community champions, and colleagues who did not make it to history books quite yet, but who continue to shape our history by influencing and impacting our communities.

Pro-Bono Action Planning

For the last 15+ years, HueLife has been partnering with non-profits, small businesses, and community-based organizations in Minnesota to provide pro-bono facilitation and service opportunity through our MToP Cohort based program. One of our community partners and regular recipient of pro-bono Action Planning service, Melvin Giles, shares the story of the Community Peace Celebration and the Urban Farm and Garden Alliance.
This month Karie was able to meet via zoom with, Melvin, Mike, Deon, Megan, and Tezikiah, a few members who have participated in the past Action Planning sessions, to talk about their experience and the impact of engaging in participatory planning.
Facilitation, Where Do I Start?
ToP & HUE
HueLife has a variety of training options from short 90-minute quick learns to 15-month long cohorts. When you're ready to start your journey or you're ready for a refresher, how do you know where to start?
If you are looking to build your skills as a neutral facilitator, the ToP Facilitation Methods (TFM) is a good place to start. In this 2-day course you will learn the Focused Conversation (aka ORID) and the Consensus Workshop method as well as the Action Planning process. This course is designed to give you the tools and build your confidence in providing a participatory process and a safe space for any group to think, act, and work together.
HUE Conversations digs deeper into understanding the people you work with on a regular basis, the multiple thinking styles, and individual personality each person brings to the team. This 1-day course is designed around a decision making framework (aka DEVCA) that incorporates the different ways each person processes information. From this course, you will walk away with a tool to take every individual style of thinking on a journey to authentic collaboration.
