As my colleagues, friends and family, most of you know that I grew up in Russia and lived in Crimea (then Ukraine) before immigrating to USA in 2002. This year, Richard and I are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our marriage, and 10 years since we began our mission in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine is not just “hitting home” it is my home. Thanks to our team at HueLife, Richard and I can dedicate most of our time now to helping organize and coordinate resources for immediate relief efforts in Ukraine through our trusted partners, including NGOs, volunteer groups, business leaders, students, and local governments we worked with over the last ten years.
We are now 1 month into this war. Many of you have reached out and expressed your concerns, already donated to our cause, and shared our story. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and support! As a result, we were able to help sustain life in occupied Kharkiv and Kherson, where volunteers are attending to shelters and delivering food, medicine, and warm clothes; evacuate orphans from eastern regions of Ukraine (Lugansk and Donetsk), assist elderly, who lost access to their pension with cash, and transport people with disabilities in Mykolaiv to safer areas of the community. $43,000 has been raised since the start of our fundraising campaign; this money is already in Ukraine feeding and sheltering hundreds of people.
We are committed to providing regular updates now on funds collected and how they will be distributed. To learn more and stay connected to this work, follow our story at Global Synergy Group, sign up for updates newsletter, or join me for virtual briefings.
