The Prevention Leaders Cohort (PLC) was created by leaders in the prevention field for leaders in the prevention field. This cohort based HUE™ Journey is an intensive skill-building experience. The program will significantly improve facilitative leadership capabilities, deepen knowledge of various facilitation methods, and provide a fun learning environment. Participants also build a learning community and a support system with other prevention leaders from across the country that will last long beyond the course.
This journey is led by Angie Asa-Lovstad and Karie Terhark. Angie and Karie have over 25 years of combined experience leading community coalitions in the drug and alcohol prevention field, focusing community efforts and resources to prevent underage substance abuse. They have worked together to lead a state-wide collaboration using tools that included members in every step of the process organically creating buy-in and ensuring sustainability.
"All of the facilitation tools have been particularly helpful as I have been able to utilize these with frequent meetings I conduct. Using the Lumina model, it has been helpful to begin to understand myself and how I work/function and then how I can most effectively work a variety of teammates as well as build external partnerships." -Lindsey Hanlon PLC I participant
