THE RETURN OF
ERIC HENDERSON & MALAGA
KICKING OFF OUR NEW FALL CONCERT SERIES
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 • 7 PM
SEGOVIA’S PROTÉGÉ RETURNS HOME
Internationally acclaimed concert guitarist, composer, and Laguna Beach native Eric Henderson returns to the Cultural Arts Center with MALAGA, his extraordinary quartet blending the elegance and fire of Spanish classical guitar with the power and freedom of rock & roll.
One of Laguna Beach’s most accomplished musical artists, Henderson was invited at just 13 years old to study privately in Spain with legendary classical guitarist Andrés Segovia. He made his professional debut in Málaga at 15 and went on to perform throughout Europe, the United States, Japan and Russia, including appearances at some of the world’s celebrated concert halls.
Now Eric brings those decades of musicianship home to Laguna Beach.
ERIC HENDERSON & MALAGA
Eric Henderson • Spanish & Classical Guitar
Richard Bredice • Electric Guitar
Jimmy Perez • Bass
Frank Cotinola • Drums
Bredice, Perez and Cotinola bring their own deep Orange County rock & roll pedigree to Malaga, including their connection to the legendary Missiles of October.
Together, Malaga creates something entirely its own: Spanish classical virtuosity colliding with rock, surf, cinematic textures and original compositions.
AND THIS NIGHT BRINGS SOMETHING NEW.
Eric will debut several new pieces as he continues pushing his music forward.
This is not simply a return performance. It is the beginning of a new fall season of concerts at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center, launched by one of the most remarkable musicians ever to emerge from Laguna Beach.
Intimate room. Extraordinary musicians. One unforgettable Saturday night.
