AUGUST 18th MEMBERSHIP MEETING (RECAP)
Thank you to everyone who joined the August 18th General Membership Meeting Zoom calls. It was good to hear from you! Members brought several issues to the attention of Leadership what will be addressed; they are, but not limited to:
1. Members who were out sick due to COVID related illness being contacted by management's "workers comp" attorney.

If you were out sick due to contract the virus and were contacted by this attorney, please let either an officer or your Labor Rep know. We have contacted management about this and they are looking into it.

2. Leadership is looking for Stewards and individuals to fill Leadership roles.

If you are interested in becoming a Steward, please notify one of your officers. Also, there will be a call for nominations coming through the mail soon.

3. EKG courses.

If you have a need to brush up on your EKG requirements, let us know. Members expressed an interested in taking course work.

4. The State of New Jersey approved the sale of the property and building that Bayonne Medical Center sits on.

As you know, RWJ Barnabas showed an interested in purchasing HUMC outright. Unfortunately, the owner of the property has not accepted Barnabas' bid. As this continues we will keep the members informed.
GRIEVANCES & ARBITRATIONS BEING ADDRESSED:
1. Unilateral Shift change from 8hr shifts to 12hr shifts.

JNESO and management are in the process of working through a settlement on this.

2. Unilateral change to on call hours in some units.

We are in the process of verifying that this did, in fact occur.

3. Health and Safety.

JNESO has consistently maintained that our members should have the proper PPE throughout their shift. Reps from the Local and JNESO will meet with management to address communications to the employees and the dissemination of equipment.

4. Cancellation.

The Local is addressing the issue to make affected members whole.
For questions or concerns, contact a Local Officer or your Labor Rep. Aisha Harrison: [email protected] or (800) 292-0542 x127
