HUNGER IS GROWING

IN NEW HAVEN.

TOGETHER, WE CAN HELP.

Sponsor a Virtual Pantry Shelf. Feed a Neighbor.

Last year, our community came together in an extraordinary way to help families struggling with food insecurity.

Today, the need remains urgent...

Recent local data show that nearly:

  • One in four New Haven residents experience food insecurity,

  • More than one-third of New Haven residents have relied on food assistance programs to help feed themselves or their families.

At the Barry J. Vine Food Pantry, we see this need every day.

Families, older adults, Holocaust survivors, and individuals facing financial hardship turn to JFS when they are forced to make difficult choices between groceries, rent, utilities, medications, and other basic necessities.

During Tackling Hunger Month, we're asking our community to help make a difference

We can all help tackle hunger,

one shelf at a time.

Our Goal is 100 Virtual Shelves

in 10 days!

✅ Comfort, stability, and hope

Food insecurity is not someone else's problem.

It's affecting people right here in Greater New Haven.

Together, we can make sure no neighbor faces hunger alone.

Sponsor A Shelf in honor or in memory of someone, or a special milestone. We will send a beautiful notecard recognizing your contribution on their behalf.

We've Moved!

Our Administrative Offices, Mental Health Clinic,

and Holocaust Survivors Program

are now located at:

1948 Chapel Street, Unit 3, New Haven, CT 06515

(At the corner of Chapel Street and Central Avenue, near the Yale Bowl)

The Barry J. Vine Food Pantry remains at its current location at 1440 Whalley Ave. and has not moved.

As responsible stewards of our agency's resources, we continually seek smart, efficient ways to maximize every dollar entrusted to us. Relocating to our new Chapel Street office allows us to better match our current space needs while saving the agency thousands of dollars in operating expenses. Best of all, the new location continues to offer free parking for clients and visitors.

When we learned our new address was 1948 Chapel Street, it felt like more than a coincidence. For many in our community, 1948 holds special significance as the year Israel declared its independence. Some coincidences are hard to ignore!
