Can You Solve the EuPA Young Proteomics Investigators Club Mass Spectrometry Challenge?
Are you excited by MS-based proteomics and always on the lookout for a chance to prove your skills? Then stay tuned – we are excited to announce the 3rd YPIC challenge, supported by PolyQuant. As with our previous challenges, we invite you to crack the secret encoded in a peptide amino acid sequence. But this time, to allow broad participation also from those without MS access, we bring the data to you. Visit our website, where you can find access to eight raw files of digested peptides, which you can use in any way you see fit to solve the challenge. Will you be the first to decipher our hidden message?

HUPO ReCONNECT 2021 videos are now available! All members have access to these videos. If you attended HUPO ReCONNECT last year and didn't have a chance to view the videos, now's your chance! If you didn't attend HUPO ReCONNECT 2021, this is an excellent opportunity to view them and catch up!
Humans of HUPO
Each month a member of HUPO is highlighted. A diverse group of researchers representing different career stages, disciplines, geographical locations, and ethnicities will be invited to submit a profile for the monthly highlight. This initiative will improve visibility of HUPO members, advertise research and enhance the HUPO community. This month we are featuring:
Lydie Lane, Switzerland
What is your current position and location?
I am associate group leader at the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and scientific collaborator at the faculty of medicine of the University of Geneva (Switzerland).

How did you get started in the field of proteomics?
In 2004, I was hired as a curator for the Swiss-Prot group, and my main task was to extract PTM information from research papers. At this time, phosphoproteomics and glycoproteomics were emerging technologies and important large scale PTM datasets started to be published. As these datasets tended to be noisy, I worked with data providers in order to better understand the technologies and set criteria to select the most relevant data for integration. Together with Alain Gateau, we developed the first pipeline to automatically annotate PTMs from such large-scale datasets.
Human Proteome Project (HPP)
On Friday, May 13, following the 3-day 2nd Joint Meeting of Spanish, French and Portuguese Proteomics Societies, the Chromosome Centric Human Proteome Project (C-HPP) announces the 25th C-HPP Workshop on “Accelerating the HPP Grand Challenge”.

This satellite workshop is open and free to all participants of ProteoVilamoura. Agenda can be viewed here. If you want to attend, just register on our website here, by accessing “FEEs” on your personal area, select the C-HPP Satellite Workshop and save.
