MELISSA - CHURCHES AND PEOPLE HURTING

ORH FOOD RELIEF READY TO SAIL FOR JAMAICA

The 2025 hurricane season was proimised to be relatively quiet. In fact, the Caribbean hurricane season has been quiet for an extended period. However, Melissa would not allow the quiet time to continue.

Melissa showed herself to be one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to strike the Caribbean. The storm plowed its way through Jamaica and Cuba with massive flooding in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

A J James, Director and pilot of Emission-Air, works with ORH Air Hope. He plans and executes air missions from his ministry based in Lexington, North Carolina.

Currently, A.J. is working to establish flights from the Dominican Republic to Jamaica. He is engaged with Iglesia Bautista Christiana, nationals, and missionaries to deliver disaster relief through Air Hope planes to Jamaican airports.

There are four airplanes ready to fly in the Air Hope coalition. Included in that group is Wings as Eagles. Wings as Eagles is one of the best and oldest aviation ministries based out of a church. Captain Terry Rushing and his great group base out of Oshkosh and Woodside Baptist Church.

Greg Rife, director of Restore Ministries, asked ORH to join with his ministry to help flooded churches in the Dominican Republic. Immediately, ORH sent forms for help, and Greg returned them just as promptly. Greg wrote the following.

"Jan, I have attached the 5 applications for the pastors in the Dominican regarding... needs as a result of Hurricane Melissa. I filled most of the information out myself with a few inputs from the guys. In some cases, their English is poor, and I thought it would just be simpler to fill it out for them....

if possible, perhaps you could start with $1000 a piece? Then we can see where things stand in a few weeks.... Thanks so much for your concern and involvement and let me know if you need anything else from me. Thanks. In His Service, Greg Rife, Restore Ministries Intl"

ORH is sending $5000 to help these brothers maintain their Gospel and Church ministries. Pray we can help them further.

Flooding and Damage around churches in Dominican Republic

Mission for Haiti sent a video of the great devastation to the southern part of Haiti. The video shows the southern road after approximately 200 or more yards of the road collapsed into the sea. Tom and Sarah Bennett are predicting it will take months for the collapsed section to be rebuilt or a new road constructed further in-land. Please pray for these people.
