HUSKY NATION NEWS

December 2024

Message from Mrs. Camper

Greetings Husky Families!

December 1, 2024

I would like to express my up most appreciation to all staff, families and students for a wonderful start to our school year. We know there were some changes to expectations and our students have risen to the occasion. EXCELLENCE MATTERS and here at FJSHS, we are seeing excellence in every classroom and corner of the school.

As December unfolds, it’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of the semester! This month is always filled with excitement as we celebrate achievements, prepare for the holidays, and reflect on the progress we’ve made so far this school year. Finals will be given the last week before Winter break. Attendance this week is important to the success of your student in their classes.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our dedicated staff, supportive families, and hardworking students for making this school a place where learning thrives. The commitment you bring to our community inspires me every day. Our Helping Paws pantry will be a help to many over the coming months. Thank you to all the community members and businesses who contribute to help it run.

December is bustling with activities! Be sure to mark your calendars for Winter concerts, sporting events, and the opening of our new gymnasium on December 14th. These moments bring us together and showcase the incredible talents and efforts of our students.

As we approach winter break, let’s remember the importance of rest and reflection. Whether you’re enjoying family traditions or simply relaxing, I hope you’ll take this time to recharge and set goals for the new year.

Thank you for all you do to support our school. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments at 719-784-6414 or email to kcamper@re-2.org .

Warm wishes for a joyful and restful Holiday Season,

Mandatory Attendance
Every child who as attained the age of six years on or before August 1 of each year and is under the age of 17 is required to attend public school with such exceptions as provided by law. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure attendance. In cases where students are absent more than the allowed 10 days, parents may see letters coming home from the school requesting a meeting to talk about a plan to increase attendance. Our goal is to work with families to do what is best for students and help them be in school. Please reach out for any further information.

Dress Code
Here at FJSHS, we feel that a dress code should be used as guidelines and help students to learn professional dress for future success in their career pathway.

DRESS CODE
Dress and hair should be neat, clean and appropriate for school. It should not distract from the educational process or be a safety concern. Since every specific item of inappropriate dress and/or appearance cannot be listed, it is the responsibility of the school administration to decide the appropriateness of an item in question.

Dresses, shorts, holes in ripped jeans and skirts must have at least a 3” inseam.
Shoulder straps on shirts must be at least three inches wide and seamed at the sleeves. No halter tops, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, see through, low cut neck lines, spandex, etc. are to be worn at school. No undergarments are to be exposed.

Clothing with inappropriate designs (reference to racism, violence, aggressive/assault behaviors, tobacco, drugs, vulgarities, obscenities, sexual behaviors or death of oneself or others) are prohibited. For example, shirts that depict music groups supporting these kinds of behaviors are not acceptable.
