Home, Sweet (Permanent) Home: Veterans move into HVAF's first
PSH units

After hearing Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett's call for more permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans, HVAF took action.

After repurposing eight of HVAF's housing properties, The Indianapolis Housing Agency awarded the organization with vouchers in order to make the properties permanent homes for veterans and their families.

Last week, the first veteran moved into one of HVAF's permanent housing units : Valerie Morris - along with her daughter and two grandkids. In addition to a permanent home, Valerie and her family will still receive case management and rental assistance from HVAF.

"I'm happy ... we've been homeless for about four months," Valerie said. "I'm so thankful and blessed."

OPERATION ALPHA RAISES
$47,659!!!
Thanks to our amazing sponsors, attendees, and supporters - we were able to raise $10,000 more than the year before! We are so thankful for everyone who supports our veterans and continues to make Operation Alpha a success.

This year's event included the traditional military-inspired Grog Bowl Ceremony that everyone looks forward to watching... and grabbing a canteen cup so they can drink from the bowl! Attendees also had a blast playing our wine toss, entering for a chance to win a nice bottle of whisky, hanging out with each other outside at the cigar veranda, and enjoying unlimited drinks courtesy of Hotel Tango spirits, Upland and Sun King beer, and The Wine Group wine.
