The Dolphin Dash encourages fitness, school spirit, and teamwork while raising essential funds for our Hermosa Beach Schools! Every dollar your child raises will go directly to enriching their experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. The HVPTO helps to supply funds for playground upgrades, library books, educational software, field trips, assemblies, teacher grants, lunch clubs, and so much more!!!

This week, we are excited to celebrate our first districtwide Multicultural Week, organized by the S.E.E.D. Committee. Each day will highlight global traditions, languages, stories, music, movement, and games that help students see the beauty of cultures from around the world.

Throughout the week, students will explore multicultural books in the library, learn greetings from different languages during morning announcements, and take part in activities that build connection and belonging. View the Multicultural Week at HVS flyer for the daily events and activities scheduled for the week of February 2nd.

Students, families, and staff are also invited to close out the week together at Multicultural Night on Thursday, February 5th, from 6-8PM in the Hermosa Valley MPR. It’s a special week dedicated to celebrating the cultures, stories, and traditions that make our Hermosa Schools community so special.

Young at Art's 3rd project is wrapping up this week! Never before have we heard so many collective "wows" during a project, the students are loving watching this project come to life!

Inspired by Gerhard Richter's abstract art, students will be layering colors that bend, scrape, and blur together to create vibrant masterpieces. This is a striking, but MESSY PROJECT so dress your children accordingly on their project date!

Swing Into Spring with the World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra! Join us for an unforgettable evening of swing, jazz, and timeless classics as the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra brings the sounds of the Swing Era to life. From In the Mood to Moonlight Serenade, this iconic ensemble continues the tradition of one of America’s most beloved musical legends.

Proceeds will benefit the Hermosa Valley School Band, under the direction of Dr. Buddy Clements, Band Director at Hermosa Valley School.

Student Opportunities:

It’s Junior Guard training time! Join Mira Costa's 2026 Junior Lifeguard Conditioning Program.

LA County Fire Department Junior Guard Swim Test Dates are: 3/14, 3/22, 3/29, and 4/12.
