HVPTO

Back-to-School Nights

Back-to-School Night is a special night for PARENTS/GUARDIANS ONLY to hear from teachers about the school year and learn about the best ways to support your child. Vista Back-to-School night was this past Thursday and View and Valley Back-to-School nights will be held this coming week. Click below for each school's schedule of events:

Sept 2: View School (Grades K-1 Only)

Sept 4: Valley School

REMINDER: Each school will have a minimum day on their BTS night. Click HERE to see what time your student(s) will be dismissed.

HVPTO will have several volunteer opportunities that you can sign up for during Back to School Night to be a part of your child's classroom experience. We're talking about fun, in-class roles that make a real difference. Check out these amazing opportunities:

HEAD ROOM PARENT + ASSISTANT ROOM PARENTS

Collaborate with teachers and organizers by sending weekly class updates to parents. Help coordinate class parties under your teacher's guidance. Manage class funds and coordinate teacher appreciation gifts. Facilitate volunteer coordination for school events.

LIVEWELL KIDS GARDEN PROGRAM

Partnering with Beach Cities Health District, this program offers garden education with a nutrition focus. Parent docent volunteers are provided all lesson materials and training to provide in-class lessons and gardening experiences.

YOUNG AT ART

Young At Art (YAA) is the district's only art program and is led by parent volunteers. It aims to foster children's creative and intellectual development through meaningful art experiences in a supportive environment. Docents receive training on each lesson plan from community artists and lead students through six art lessons throughout the year.

CLASS PHOTOGRAPHER/YEARBOOK PAGE VOLUNTEER

Collaborate as the class photographer with the Yearbook Chair to create the class page that will be treasured for years to come.

If you forgot to sign up at Vista BTS night or have questions, reach out to volunteers@hvpto.com to learn more.
