The Season: Connecting Families, Alumni, and Community - Winter 2019
Message from the Head of School
This year for the Spring Benefit, we are honoring a special couple in our community. He is a ball of energy, she is an island of calm. Arnnon Geshuri has given his time and leadership as our Chair of Yavneh’s Board of Trustees. Rebecca Geshuri has been an active volunteer at our school. He is my strategic partner in the current and future success of Yavneh. His hours and energy are limitless. She is regularly found in the Beit Kehillah participating in school services, volunteering her expertise as a leader in our Rosh Hodesh female empowerment program, and offering a listening ear to any member of our community in need of support. Together, they are parents of a Yavneh alum and two current students and I am honored to know Rebecca and Arnnon Geshuri as friends and pillars of our community.

It is therefore befitting that Yavneh honors Rebecca and Arnnon at our annual Spring Benefit, Sunday April 7th. The evening will begin with a special mezuzah-hanging ceremony honoring the Wolff family as we dedicate our recently completed Beit Kehillah - community room, home to Yavneh’s services and assemblies. The new room features an aron kodesh (ark), a ner tamid (hand crafted by Yavneh parent Jeff Warwick), a state of the art audio visual system, and unlike our previous multi purpose room - natural light. Following the dedication, the evening continues in the JCC Auditorium with food, a raffle, magic and a special performance.

Proceeds of the evening’s festivities benefit Yavneh’s operating expenses, assuring that we are able to continue providing an outstanding education to Yavneh’s students, our community’s next generation of leaders. We depend on your support as we are not able to operate our school without the generosity of our friends and community. If you are unable to join us on April 7th, please consider a donation in honor of the Geshuri’s and Yavneh Day School here: ybenefit.givesmart.com

I look forward to seeing you at Yavneh’s Spring Benefit on April 7th, 5:00pm at the Levy Family Campus.

L’Shalom,
Zvi
