Jeremy Brown
After many years steeped in the Americana traditions associated with bluegrass, including forays into jazz and classical, this West Coast virtuoso is now an in-demand and central figure on New York’s lively Jewish music scene. Jeremy Brown traverses the Diasporic realm of violin traditions, slipping between Klezmer-induced hyper horas and mind-bending Mesopotamian maqams with ease and fluidity. He performs and records with many artists including Golem, Eitan Katz, Frank London, Pitom, ASEFA, and the New York Andalus Ensemble. His first solo album, "This Year in St. Louis", was released in 2001.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA members purchase a share, much like a subscription, from Feed-Me Farms before the farm season begins. This guarantees the customer a predetermined amount of weekly produce throughout the 20-week season. Critically, it also provides much-needed cash flow to the farmers during a time of year when veggie and produce sales are very low, and expenses are high - now is the time for farmers to invest in seeds, equipment, and repairs to the high tunnel that blew apart during that wind event a few weeks ago. You remember the one…
A CSA with Feed-Me Farms will provide you with a weekly (or bi-weekly) share of the freshest of what the season has to offer. In spring, you’ll see microgreens, spinach, baby mustards and kales, peas, radishes, and more. In the summer, watch out for delicious heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, eggplant, and all that other colorful warm-season produce. In the autumn, look forward to beets, carrots, turnips, arugula, kale, microgreens, and fresh herbs.

Next Meeting: 3/19 | 7 PM
The history of beer is as old as human history itself. When it comes to Jews and alcohol, the historic involvement in wine is obvious and for those in the 'know', the involvement in the liquor business is also well documented. Most of us can name several Jewish wineries and the names of Bronfman and Lansky are famous for both legal and 'extra' legal liquor. Beer however is a different story. At first glance, beer seems to be the least 'Jewish' of alcoholic beverages. Tonight we will explore the real story - The hidden history of Jews & Beer.

Judaism 101 is an introduction to the basics of Judaism and its history, customs, traditions, and philosophy. This course provides a broad overview and is for those interested in Judaism, or anyone seeking to renew or enhance their Jewish knowledge. For some, it is a partial fulfillment of the requirements of our conversion program and adult B’nai Mitzvah program. This course provides an opportunity to explore many of the questions we have about Judaism, the Jewish people, and the Jewish way of life.
