High Holidays Recommendations from Shabbat with Friends NM | |
|
Dear Friends,
Because Shabbat with Friends NM is a Jewish organization that focuses exclusively on Shabbat and Jewish hospitality practices, we do not offer High Holiday services. We recommend that people involved with SWF attend one of the many High Holiday options in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and other New Mexico Jewish communities. Rabbi Gartenberg is happy to chat with you on the variety of services and approaches in the community and can make introductions to other rabbis, cantors, and communal leaders who are offering High Holiday services. Please feel free to make a phone, video, or in person appointment with me. Email me at dov@shabbatwithfriends.org.
To facilitate connecting to our New Mexico Jewish communities, Shabbat with Friends will post a directory of High Holiday services in New Mexico in our HaShavua E-Newsletter on August 20th.
I am happy to announce that I have been invited to lead High Holiday services in Santa Fe at HaMakom-The Place while their fine rabbi, Jack Shlachter, helps a congregation for the Yamim Noraim in Warsaw, Poland. I am honored to be asked to serve this community and have accepted HaMakom's invitation.
If you are interested in attending services at HaMakom, please go to this link where you can get further information.

I wish you Shanah Tova- a good 5784.

Discover the Joy of Shabbat Hosting
SWF's Shabbat Hosts Support Program
| |
One of the aims of Shabbat with Friends NM is to support persons and households interested in hosting a Shabbat gathering at home or at a special outdoor or indoor venue. SWF provides support for prospective hosts with consultation, meal planning, setup and cleanup, and training in the leading of the rituals of Shabbat at home. We impart joyfully to you the informal skills and traditions that define Jewish home hospitality through the generations.
Our hosts can host Shabbat gatherings that include music and singing, conversation, Torah study, and other formats. To receive host support in preparation for hosting a Shabbat with Friends gathering, contact our Convener, Rabbi Dov Gartenberg, dov@shabbatwithfriends.org to consider the possibilities.
