"Jesus says,' In as much as you do unto the least of these, you do unto me.' Jesus was pointing his followers to be sensitive to the needs of others and to care, particularly for those in need, compassionately. The work of Habitat for Humanity aligns with Jesus' words and allows people to use their gifts, time, and talent to make the world a better place. That's why I enjoy working with Habitat for Humanity."
~ Pastor David Helms
"I love serving at the Apostles Build because I get to meet other Pastors and leaders whom I probably would not get to meet. Together with a little sweat and laughter, not only are we helping a family, but we are building relationships. I look forward to the opportunity to serve together."
~ Reverend John C. Hage, Senior Pastor
"Community Presbyterian church is an intergenerational Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation in the Village of Pinehurst. Our partnership with Habitat is one of many expressions of our calling and mission as a church. "We exist not for ourselves, but to love God and make God's love known." CPC is grateful for the opportunity to serve with our neighbors in faith in churches around the Sandhills in our shared efforts to create sustainable housing for families in our community. The Apostles Build reminds us that we are all called to respond generously to a generous God in practical ways that enable families to flourish.
We look forward to the build!"
~ Reverend Meg Vail
"We build for Habitat because we believe that our faith should be representative in not only the things we say but especially through the things we do. By using our bodies to build alongside future homeowners we are testifying to the things we affirm to believe as people who believe in the Triune God. Additionally, we believe that as humanity in this beloved creation, all things (including people) are connected in a complex but beautiful network. By participating in Habitat builds, the connections that sometimes seem invisible become more visible, and God is pleased."
~ Pastor Jabe Largen
"We at the Village Chapel believe that Jesus set the example for all of us to follow. Being a servant means genuinely caring about people and meeting their needs. Jesus did both! Partnering with Habitat of the Sandhills allows volunteers an opportunity to serve and meet the needs of very special people right here in our own community. This is why The Village Chapel serves with Habitat."
~ Reverend Vickie Smith
"Habitat presents a great way to help others, fellowship, and share the love of God. Habtitat promotes unity and well-being in communities and among volunteers. I love Habitat."
~ Prophetess and Assistant Minister, Thomasine Cox
"I choose to give some time and build with Habitat because I believe in their mission to provide quality, affordable housing for those who work with the program. Habitat is a fantastic organization to partner with to love our neighbors and build a more caring community!
~ Pastor Daryl Cornett
"We at Southern Pines United Methodist Church believe Christ has called us his "hands and feet" in our community. We also believe everyone deserves and should have a place to call "home." Through Habitat for Humanity we get to put our faith into action. We are honored to work with such an amazing organization, for they truly are making this world a better place."
~ Sr. Pastor Tommy Sweeley
"Penick Village loves and supports Habitat. Habitat now offers volunteer opportunities to our residents to complete work here on campus. This is a true win-win. Also, a Penick employee has been chosen as a future homeowner. Penick residents' volunteer hours will count toward Habitat's sweat equity hours. Another win-win. How good is that! Penick's values and Habitat's values are the same. Love makes a difference."
~ Chaplain Colette Bachand
"The God of the Bible is deeply interested in ensuring people have homes. I work with Habitat for Humanity because they do this effectively and responsibly."
~ Pastor David Priddy
"I believe Habitat for Humanity is a blessed example of how Jesus Christ wants us all to view all of humanity. Jesus replied:' Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:37-39.”
~ Reverend John Bright
"I believe in Habitat for Humanity because home ownership brings stability to families."
~ Pastor Kenneth McNeill
"Traveling throughout our country and cruising all over the world, Michael and I have found that of all the successes people boast about, housing and the basic necessities of life are at the top of everyone's priorities. We have seen exquisite homes in the Cayman's to huts in Jamaica, mansions with gated lots in New Mexico to shacks on dirt roads in Aberdeen. All of these places are homes to the inhabitants. Our minds spin around the fact that not everyone can afford the mansion; however decent, affordable housing should be a reachable goal for everyone. As a supporter of Habitat for Humanity, we salute the mission of this worthwhile organization and continue to make it our ministry to share in its mission. If we all join together, affordable housing will sprout up all across the globe. It starts right here, right now, in our own front yard. Won't you do your part today? Together, we will make a difference by ensuring all children have healthy accommodations where they feel safe and loved. Michael and I believe, as people of faith, that call is extended to all.
~ Pastor Dian Davis
"We participate in and help with Habitat's Apostles build because God calls us to be stewards of creation and to care for His Creation means lovingly caring for His people around us. James 2:15-17 states, "If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things they needed for the body, what good is that?" So, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." We help because we are people of faith and want others to benefit from our faith and join us in a loving relationship with God."
~ Pastor Matt Brogli
"I, Elder Robert Jackson support the Apostles Build because of it being a Spiritual and Humanitarian duty of Pastors, Preachers, Elders and all other Clergy, "To go Ye Therefore to all Nations" as saith the "great Commission." It is also a Moral duty to participate in the Apostles Build as a collaborative and example of true "Brotherly & Sisterly Love. So, in these days and times it is so imperative that we as a people come together and support one another in various aspects and much joint adventures for the greater good. "Yes We Are Our Brothers Keepers" and "It is good for Brethren to Dwell Together-Where There Is Unity, There Is Strength." Looking forward to the Apostles Build with great expectations and much success. It's all to the Glory of God. To God Be All the Glory for He Has done Great Things.
~ Elder Robert Jackson
After a COVID hiatus, Sacred Heart Catholic Church has recently rejoined the Habitat Faith Builds for 2023. Volunteers are currently being solicited for the build promoted by the Stewardship Committee, the Women of Sacred Heart and the Knights of Columbus. Habitat has always been supported by the parish especially by the annual Elphie Sale. The build is being embraced in a similar enthusiastic manner.

Habitat’s Apostles Build is one of the most beloved projects we do together at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Being a part of Habitat enables us to do one of the best things we can do to love our neighbors: working alongside them to create their own home place where they can live, play, work, grow and love in safety and peace.
~ The Reverend Patricia Grace
I support habitat for humanity because the charity they provide is done in a wise and sustainable way whereby families are able to rise up out of poverty and stay there. They provide not only short-term support for families, but also long-term stability. By assisting families to build a home, they are helping families create lasting wealth.
~Jared McNeill, Cameron Baptist Church
