Service Spotlight: Ruth's Room
Ruth's Room is a thrift store and nonprofit fundraising entity in Denton established to support the work of Habitat for Humanity of Denton County! We receive a large percentage of their proceeds each month to further our mission of building homes, communities, and hope for those in need in Denton County. We are so grateful for their long-time partnership and support!

Ruth’s Room first opened its doors on December 16, 2000 and took in enough revenue on that first day to pay the following month’s rent! Over the next few months and years the community blessed them with an unbelievable amount of donations and continued patronage, so that they experienced an unprecedented amount of growth and expanded their number of locations multiple times. Now you can visit Ruth's Room; the ReStore (which used to be Bart's Barn); as well as the "Ruth's Room Too" bookshop.

In 2011, the amount of donations from Ruth’s Room to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County reached $1,000,000! We have also built three of our houses in honor of the dedicated Ruth’s Room volunteers.

Thank you, Ruth's Room, for your service to Habitat for Humanity
of Denton County over so many years!
A huge THANK YOU to all who gave to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County for North Texas Giving Day! We received over 100 donations and raised $46,083!

A special thank you to our generous Board and Build Committee members for not only contributing to the matching funds, but also working as a team to rally so much support in our community. We could not have done any of this or raised this much support without you!

We are SO BLESSED by the support given to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County for North Texas Giving Day and in support of the Habitat Village! Last year we only raised $4,486 on North Texas Giving Day, so we are BLOWN AWAY by this year's generosity in exceeding that by over $40,000!

Our Board of Directors, Build Committee volunteers, donors, and staff have been waiting so long for the Habitat Village to come to fruition, and we are now finally able to start making this dream become a reality! Continue to follow along with us in the coming months and years, as the Habitat Village begins and grows to house up to 35 families in need, all in one neighborhood in Denton, all thanks to your continued support!

Volunteer with us!
Volunteer with our A Brush with Kindness program! Help repair and paint the exterior of a home of someone in need! A Brush with Kindness serves low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability, or family circumstances who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes.

Contact us here to sign up to receive volunteer updates. You'll also receive updates on upcoming volunteer opportunities for our next build, which will begin in the next couple of months.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Denton County brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
