Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) Celebrate International Women's Build Day
Forty women from Lowe’s stores around Southern California and two Olympians joined us at our Globe Avenue build site in Culver City on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Habitat LA is once again accepting applications from low-income families throughout the greater Los Angeles area to become partner homebuyers. Our newest home buying opportunities are in the Washington neighborhood of Long Beach, where we will soon break ground on 10 new houses.
It’s been one year since our Los Angeles ReStoreopened its doors in mid-city Los Angeles, so we’re throwing an anniversary party on Saturday, April 27, and a 25% off storewide sale Friday through Sunday, April 26-28. The celebration falls just a few days after Earth Day (April 22), so the festivities will take on an environmental theme, in honor of the ways our ReStores help save the planet.
Two members of our staff and seven volunteers spread the word about our work to 40,000 people at the Religious Education Congress, the nation’s largest annual gathering of Roman Catholics, from March 22-24.
Kenna Ledbetter As Our New Faith Relations Manager
Habitat LA is pleased to welcome Kenna Ledbetter to our team as Faith Relations Manager. Kenna joined us in November 2018, after previously working at San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, a 90-bed homeless shelter in Northridge.
