Angy Smith Joins Habitat LA
As Senior VP of
Retail Operations
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is pleased to welcome Angy Smith to our team as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, overseeing all aspects of our ReStores. Prior to joining our family, Angy spent her entire career in retail, holding positions from store manager to Vice President of Merchandising for companies like Lowe’s and The Home Depot.

In Loving Memory
Habitat LA mourns the loss of two members of our extended family: co-founder Diane Reed and Torrance ReStore Manager Greg Bisenieks.

Jeunesse Builds
A New Partnership
with Habitat LA
Sixty distributors from Jeunesse Kids ( Jeunesse Global’s nonprofit foundation), an international direct seller of skincare and nutritional products, braved the rain January 14 to build and paint houses large and small at our Globe Ave. construction site in Culver City.

Making A World
of Difference
At Our Globe Ave. Homes
Our Globe Ave. new construction site in Culver City is bringing out volunteers in record numbers. And it’s also bringing out the best in people as we try to raise the funds necessary to complete the 10 homes.

Habitat Helps Veterans
Impacted by Wildfires
Our expansion into the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys has brought with it an opportunity to help families impacted by recent wildfires that affected southern California.  Our Habitat LA ReStores were able to play a large role in that effort by helping to raise funds for victims and by providing much needed furnishings.

Advocating for
Affordable Housing
Is A Capital Idea
Habitat LA joined 24 other California Habitat affiliates in Sacramento last month for Advocacy Day, a statewide conference that included meeting with state legislators about the Golden State’s pressing need for more affordable housing.

Dennis Gottman Is Our
February Volunteer
of the Month
Dennis Gottman was a casual volunteer for several years, but in the last two or three years, he has been spending many of his Saturdays at our construction sites.

At Tax Time
Did you know you can make a contribution to Habitat for Humanity when you file your state tax return? Thanks to legislation by Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer, California taxpayers can donate $1 or more to Habitat for Humanity California through the  Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund.

OUR MISSION
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
OUR VISION
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
