Habitat PEH Support Renovations to

Keep Families in Their Homes

We at Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings (Habitat PEH) believe that everyone deserves a safe and decent place to call home. We bring communities together to help families build strength, stability, and self-reliance. Renovations play a crucial role in housing stability, helping people stay in their homes and preventing them from slipping into homelessness. For many homeowners and renters, aging or deteriorating housing conditions can make it difficult to maintain safe and livable spaces. Without necessary repairs or modifications, individuals may be forced to leave their homes due to safety hazards, high maintenance costs, or even eviction. By investing in renovations, we can address these risks and create long-term housing security for vulnerable populations.

Meaning of Home Contest

Making a Difference in Our Community

Your students’ short entry (50-300 words) could make a big difference for your community! The Meaning of Home contest is back for it's 18th year and you have until February 21st to get your entries in! The contest invites Grades 4, 5 and 6 students from across Canada to submit a written poem or essay explaining what home means to them. Since 2007, over 120,000 students have participated in the Meaning of Home contest, raising over $2.7 million to help build homes for families in need of decent and affordable housing.

For every local contest entry submitted $10 will be donated to our local Habitat affiliate. Last year, local submissions netted $1,800 for Habitat PEH! There are also prizes to be won thanks to our founding sponsor Sagen, and local donors.
