A Homecoming for
Martinez-Gil Family
Partner homeowner Mayra Martinez-Gil and her children celebrated the completion of their home on February 7 under brilliantly sunny skies. An audience of nearly 100 Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) staff members, volunteers, donors, fellow homeowners, elected officials, and other community stakeholders came out for the dedication.

Delta Air Lines and
Habitat LA Welcome Home
The Joseph Family
“Home is the nicest word there is,” said Habitat LA President and CEO, Erin Rank, quoting the author Laura Ingalls Wilder, as she welcomed Tianna-Nichole Joseph and her four children to their new three-bedroom home in Los Angeles. “Today we celebrate that.”

Ian Armstrong: Our March
Volunteer of the Month
Ian Armstrong first learned about Habitat for Humanity when he was in grade school, but he never imagined he’d be volunteering for the organization, until he tore his labrum. The injury left him unable to perform his regular job as a trash collector for Waste Management, and the company didn’t have any light duty work for him to take on while he recovered. That’s when he discovered an opportunity to volunteer at the Habitat LA ReStore.

Habitat LA Staff and Board Members Join A Global Village Trip to Mexico
A team of twenty-four, including seven Habitat LA Board Members and five Habitat LA staff, flew down to Lo de Marcos, Mexico this past January and spent a week building homes for three families in the Nayarit province. They were joined by several other donors including those who won seats on the trip during the live auction at the 2018 Los Angeles Builders Ball ® .

Habitat on the Hill
Habitat LA President and CEO, Erin Rank, and three staff members flew to Washington, D.C. in February for the 13th annual Habitat on the Hill conference. They joined more than 350 staff members from other Habitat affiliates around the country to advocate for affordable housing.
