Dear Habitat Friend,
I have great news to share this month -- the new homeowner for our Hubbardston project has been selected and I'm very excited to introduce you to Kara and her daughters! Kara and her children have been living in a small, non-accessible mobile home for the last fifteen years and she is thrilled to now be working on their new home. This is Kara's second time applying for a Habitat home and she worked incredibly hard to make sure all of her finances were in order for this application. Kara's family needs the accessibility features of the Ragged Hill Road home, and they look forward to being a part of the wonderful community in Hubbardston.
We have scheduled a mid-build celebration for the Ragged Hill Road house for this Saturday, March 5th, at 10 a.m. Please join us to meet Kara, add your name and well-wishes to the studs in the home, and see the progress that has been made so far. Thank you to the Hubbardston Local Project Committee, Monty Tech, our great volunteers, and the Habitat NCM Family Selection Committee for all of their work over the last few months!
We are kicking off a new Acton Local Project Committee for our home at 26 Carlisle Road and look forward to starting this build very soon. The first meeting is planned for March 7th at 6 pm at the 201 Great Road, Acton office or by Zoom. Please let me know if you would like to be part of the committee!
This month we worked on critical home repair projects including plumbing, heating, drywall, flooring and roofing in Acton, Pepperell and Fitchburg, and we will be working in Lunenburg, Gardner and Royalston next month. There continues to be great demand for this program and we are thankful for all of your help as volunteers and advocates.
Thank you all for your continued support for affordable housing in north central Massachusetts!
In partnership and gratitude,
Carolyn

Join us for our next Taste for Home event!
Planned for March 10th at 7 p.m., this event will feature a bourbon and two types of brandy from the oldest distiller in the US. We will be tasting the three, learning about the distilling process, and making several specialty cocktails. In addition, we will be tasting Cape Cod Café Pizza and pairing the spirits with the perfect desserts. You can sign up here and I hope to see you at the event!

Two Opportunities to Help Bring a Family Home in Hubbardston
|

The Hubbardston Local Project Committee is raising funds for the Ragged Hill Road home and announced that the Law Office of David R. Rocheford, Jr., P.C., a long-time supporter of Habitat NCM, pledged $7,000 to match new donations to the Hubbardston build dollar for dollar, allowing donors to double their contributions. Thank you to Ladybug Farm Produce, LaMacchia Real Estate, Ross Mortgage Company, The Ruptured Duck, and The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm have already given generously to support the build.
In addition, a portion of each sale from Hubbardston Candle Company will be donated for the build and you can click here to purchase one of their beautiful candles.

Thank you to the many new and returning volunteers who joined us during the month to help in Hubbardston and with Critical Home Repairs!
We continue to need construction volunteers (individuals or groups!) especially in Hubbardston on Saturdays, and we can really use help at the ReStore in Leominster this month. Please register online or send an email to volunteer@ncmhabitat.org with any questions!
