Dear Habitat Friend,
Today is World Habitat Day, a day that was designated more than thirty years ago by the United Nations General Assembly to encourage us to focus on the worldwide need for shelter. This is a day when we remember that everyone deserves a decent place to live
. Every year Habitat for Humanity affiliates join partners around the world to rededicate ourselves to recognizing the basic right of everyone to adequate shelter. Habitat for Humanity asks everyone to join together as one global network in communicating the message that every one of us deserves the opportunity for a better future, and that a decent place to live can remove barriers to opportunity, health and success that might have been part of a family’s life for years, and in many cases for generations.
As we work to provide decent shelter in Acton for Violet & Amina (shown above with a group of wonderful volunteers) and Ray & Sheryl and their children, we thank you for all you have done to help provide a decent place to live for so many families in north central Massachusetts.
Thank you for your part in bringing our mission to life.
In partnership,
Carolyn

A New Online Volunteer Experience!
|
|
|
In the next few days we will be transitioning to a new online volunteer scheduling system. An e-mail will be going out soon to all our volunteers with a link to our new system, and how to log in.
It will be very different! But we hope you'll find it easy to navigate and sign up for a build day, ReStore orientation or shift, an office hour or anything else that's available and appeals to you :)
Look out for our new sign-up button.
Wait, wait, not yet. But soon!

The ReStore is our discount home improvement center. We accept donations of new and gently used items from individuals and local businesses, and sell to the public at a reduced cost, usually 50-70% of the original retail value. All profits support home ownership for hard working, low income families in North Central Massachusetts, while keeping good, reusable materials in use and out of the landfill.
Open Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm.
