Meridian Street has a wonderful opportunity to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus.

On Saturday morning, August 9, the church parking lot will be the construction site as we partner with Habitat for Humanity to build walls for a home to be purchased by a Habitat family.

To accomplish this, we need at least 60 volunteers building the walls plus additional folks to assist with Check-in, Hospitality the day of, and providing snacks and drinks for the hospitality station. There is something for everyone to do. Childcare will be provided.

Pastor Rachel firmly believes we can meet the goal of 60 people for the build. As an added incentive though, she promises to dye her hair pink if we meet that goal. So sign up today!

Tasks to choose from are as follows:

Building Wall Panels (minimum age of 16)

• Assemble and nail together panel walls-exterior and interior. Lumber is pre-cut, marked and identified, and pre-drilled. Habitat “Tiger” volunteers work with each team to guide you through.
• All tools, materials, and personal protection equipment such as safety glasses and gloves, are provided by Habitat for Humanity
• Two shifts to choose from: 8:00 am – 10:30 am and 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
• If you would like, we have openings for 8 “Nail Captains”. You will help lead a station of volunteers with the help of Habitat experts. Basic instruction given on-site.
• Registration is required through the Habitat for Humanity Registration site.

Check-In Station on August 9

• Assist Habitat staff with check-in and distribution of equipment.1 shift: 7:30-10:30 am

Hospitality station for August 9

• Staff the Hospitality Station, helping volunteers and Habitat staff with drinks and snacks.
• Replenish snacks and drinks (5-gallon thermos of water and lemonade), etc. as needed
• Early shift will help set up tables, chairs and shade tent and later shift will help with tear down and storing these items.
• Two shifts:1st Shift is 8:00 -10:30 am and 2nd shift is 10:30 - 12:30 pm
