WOMEN'S CLUB MEETING - JANUARY 17TH

ORGANIZING with KATHLEEN CHAMBERS

Kathleen was born and raised in southern Arizona where she received her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing from The University of Arizona. Fresh out of college, Kathleen began her career with JCPenny, bringing her to Dallas, Texas. She quickly transitioned from retail to wholesale and worked for seven years before becoming a stay-at-home mom.

Growing up, her parents owned a contracting company and Kathleen would often be at the office and in the field getting the custom homes ready for move-in. These years of hands-on experience taught her to be very handy with tools, how to manage paper, run an office, and work with subcontractors. The next milestone was marrying her sweetheart and after some time as a couple they started a family and a business. Kathleen continued to use her skills to raise their two children and help her husband run and manage the business.

Kathleen is a talented leader and can adapt her personality to work with all types of clients. Those who know her say she is cool and collected, funny, frugal, and loyal. These traits are helpful when working with people who are anxious about making decisions and moving forward. Kathleen is excellent at organizing small spaces and creating multipurpose areas. She knows how to work with small budgets and has an eye for decorating. Her education and life experience bring skills helpful to photographers, small businesses owners, those with cluttered garages full of tools, and clients wanting a creative space plan for closets.

Kathleen loves to exercise and spend time outdoors. She also enjoys scrapbooking photos and treasures from her family. She is skilled at picture organization and loves her annual weekend retreats to work on her scrapbooks and catch up with old friends.

Whether organizing a dream closet, a fresh trendy bedroom, a functional laundry room, or tidy but perfectly organized garage, Kathleen loves helping others fall in love with their home again. It is her goal to make clients happy.

ASSOCIATION PROJECTS UPDATE

For a brief update on pending / ongoing projects here at Hackberry Creek:

  • New decorative sign poles (4) for school crossing & speed limit signs on Southern Oak have arrived. We are arranging an install date. Install is a two part project as concrete bases need poured and then once set, signs erected and bolted in place.
  • Swing at Mckee Park - vendor (repair service) removed hanging swing but manufacturer shipped wrong size replacement. Vendor service awaiting correct part and also will provide free additional swing hangers for other swing so both will be upgraded to new hangers.
  • Replacement Light and Stop Sign at Crosswood and Primrose should be installed by end of next week. This was a replacement due to damage by a sub-contractor and at no cost to the Association.
  • New cloud-based camera system has been ordered as approved by the Board. Install likely around 1st week of February.
  • Broken streetlight on Summitview part on order - 1 globe working with 1 yet missing.
  • 2 Streetlights lacking power from transformers (ONCOR issue) have been reported to ONCOR multiple times and expected to be repaired soon but no official ETA. Locations are near 7314 Marigold and 2104 Creekside Circle.
  • Community tree-trimming in-progress. Expected finish date by January 15th.
  • Community Christmas Lights removed earlier this week.
  • Painting of all black wrought iron and poles at entrances 50% complete. Vendor to return to paint signage at all entrances since now all Christmas lights have been removed.
  • 3 Radar Camera systems ordered. Expected ship date in next 2-3 weeks. Once received install complete in approximately 2 additional weeks. Pre-work of wiring at locations needed / pending.
  • Photographing / documentation of 120 plus street / sidewalk / curb / alley locations should be complete next week.

HACKBERRY CREEK NOW HAS ITS OWN APP IN THE APPLE APP STORE AND ON GOOGLE PLAY!

We are happy to announce that Hackberry Creek now has its own resident's app for Apple and Android devices!

The app will allow you to contact the office, view other website members, utilize the forum and receive push notifications for important news and updates! The app does not have as many features as the full website but is still a great tool to stay in touch with neighbors and up-to-date with Association news! And, if you prefer the app language other than English, you can change that setting as well.

After downloading (links below) for your specific device, please follow these steps to get connected and logged in to the app:

  1. Download the app for your device using appropriate link below or simply search "Hackberry Creek" to find it in the App Store or on Google Play. You should see the green Hackberry Logo and the name of the app is Hackberry Creek HOA App.
  2. Open the App
  3. In the far upper left of the home screen you will see a little round grey and white profile icon. Tap that icon.
  4. You should see the Hackberry Name and logo and a button that says "Get Started". Tap "Get Started".
  5. Enter your email address.
  6. Click "Continue"
  7. If you already are a member of the website registered with the email address you entered, look at bottom of screen and select "Already have a password? Log in". Skip to step 9.
  8. If you are not already a member of the website, go to your email account and click on the link provided within 20 minutes. Be sure to check your Spam folder. Follow the instructions to create an account. Once you've received notification your account is approved / created, close and re-open the app and start again at step 2.
  9. Enter your password (the one you use for the website) and click "Log In"
  10. A pop up should appear asking you if you'd like to allow notifications. Select Yes to ensure you are notified of any alerts or messages instantaneously.
  11. If you have landed at your profile page, you can update accordingly or push the back arrow in the upper left to go to the home page.
  12. You're in!

From the app Home Screen you will find Important Announcements below the menu bar. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a Members list. To follow the Association Manager or specific board members, find them in the members list and select follow so you will be notified anytime they post something. At the moment you can only search by first name be we are working on expanding that capability.

By selecting the Contact menu option you can send a message or click to call us at the office. You can also go to the full mobile version of the website.

The Forum is available on the app so you can read, comment on, or add a post. If none of the categories are visible or are grayed out - it means you are not logged in as a member.

The Galley page has photos from recent events.

To manage notification settings, click on the round, gray notification icon (a bell) in the far upper right side of the screen. Click the 3 dots in the upper right, select "Notification Settings". On this screen you can select what type of notifications you'd like to receive. We recommend at a minimum you elect to receive "Announcements" under the General category (first selection) so any important push notifications will be delivered immediately. Ensure notification are also enabled on your phone for the Hackberry App in your phone's notifications settings.

To change the app language to a language other than English, from the Home screen, press the small round profile icon in the upper left. On the My Profile page, select the gear icon in far upper right to go to the Settings page. Select App Language and choose your preferred language from 23 different options. Once changed the app will close and re-open. Note that any text in Announcements will still display in English but all other navigation text should appear in the language of your choosing.

NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONCERNING TRESPASSING ON THE GOLF COURSE

The office continues to receive complaints from the Golf Course staff and residents whose homes back up to the course that individuals are trespassing on the greens, fairways and cart paths. Be advised that the entire golf course (cart trails, greens, fairways, water features) is private property and individuals are subject to trespassing citations from Las Colinas Association Security Patrols and/or the Irving Police Department if reported.

The only persons allowed on the course are members of the club and those actively playing.

Since the golf course is private property residents of Hackberry Creek are not permitted to walk, run, exercise pets or bike on the cart paths or anywhere on the course. The golf course is not a public area and is not open to residents for use of any sort.

Residents of Hackberry do not have permission to access the course unless they are a member of the club and actively playing golf.

Residents cannot play the course, use the greens, jump in just to play a few holes, etc. unless they check-in with the Club first. Even if you are a member of the Club you must check-in with the Club before any play - not checking in constitutes trespassing.

Please be sure to honor the private property rights of the Country Club and golf course areas. If you have a concern about trespassing, please report the issue to the Las Colinas Association or the Country Club.
