HOLI COLOR RUN - TODAY!
SIGN IN AT 10:30AM

TODAY!
Time: Sign in starts at 10:30am, run takes off at 11:00
Location: Sign in will be in the school parking lot on Southern Oak. Holi Celebration will be in Southern Oak Park
Race route: Run will begin near the school parking lot on Southern Oak, proceed east on Southern Oak to Sumac, will turn north on Sumac to Yaupon, then east on Yaupon. At the end of Yaupon, participanta will u-turn and follow the same route back. The run will end at Southern Oak Park. If you live along the race route, please refrain from parking on the street during the 10:00am-1:00pm timeframe.
When the race is over, join us at Southern Oak Park to celebrate Holi. We will have Indian-style dancing to help us shake off our colored powder and plenty of music to get us in the dancing mood!

Have you or someone in your family recently won an award, or have an interesting hobby, talent or interest that you would like to share with your neighbors?
If so, we would love to include it in the next issue of Hackberry Creek Living Magazine.
Have you taken a trip or had an adventure that you would like to share? Explore, Dream, Discover is the title of a regular feature about our residents’ travels that will run in Hackberry Creek Living. Hackberry Creek residents have visited many fascinating places, both in the United States and all over the world.
If you are an aspiring author, we encourage you to write an article that you think your neighbors would enjoy reading. And, photos are always welcome!

Featuring Indian Food, Music and More
March 21st - 6:30PM
Indian Spring Fest celebrates the beautiful Asian Indian Women of Hackberry Creek, who are our neighbors and friends. These ladies will be sharing their rich heritage and culture with us. We hope to learn more about India’s vibrant food, music, dress, and jewelry, among other things. There will be food tasting, a specialty Indian drink, and a mini–Indian Bazaar made up of local vendors. And of course, there will be prizes.
If you own an Asian Indian business and would like to promote your company and participate in our mini-Bazaar, DM or email Sapna at sapna@bespiced.com for more information. Please contact us by Monday, March 6th to participate.

EASTER EVENT
SAVE THE DATE - APRIL 8TH

On April 8th Hackberry Creek Country Club will be hosting the Easter egg hunt this year on the lawn in between the swimming pool and the club. They will provide a bounce house along with hamburgers and hot dogs for sale, along with a satellite bar for drink purchases.

THE TASTE OF HACKBERRY IS BACK
Be sure to mark your calendars for The Taste of Hackberry—our village’s favorite street party — for Saturday, April 29 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Event leaders Joan Davis, Meryl Kearns, Deborah Cunion and their team of volunteers are busy planning the event, which will include a wide assortment of food trucks, a live band, and games and entertainment for children and adults. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages if you prefer. ‘The Taste’ is always a special way to spend time with old friends, or start new friendships as you meet and get to know other neighbors. More details will be available in the coming weeks, but please save the date! Please remember, this is a private event for Hackberry Creek residents only.

This month's Hackberry Creek HOA Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the Hackberry Creek Country Club, 1901 W Royal Ln, Irving, TX 75063. The Open Session begins at 7:00pm and homeowners are welcome to attend and comment. | |

The Board will be conducting Executive Session from 6:30pm to 7:00pm and the Executive Session is closed to homeowners. Log-in information and an agenda will be published by March 9th, 2023 | |

PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK SIGNS INSTALLED ON SOUTHERN OAK AND SUMMITVIEW | |
New Crosswalk pedestrian signs have been installed on Summitview before and after Southern Oak. We have also installed pedestrian signs on Southern Oak before and after the Park near the crosswalks. Please watch for pedestrians!

CITY OF IRVING IRRIGATION WORKSHOP

Come join the City of Irving’s licensed irrigator for a crash course on irrigation system basics, controller programing, system trouble shooting, and minor repairs.
They will have soil moisture meters, knee pads, and hose valves available to residents who would like them!
You can let them know you will be attending (RSVP suggested but not required) by emailing Zach Tabor, Water Conservation Specialist at ztabor@cityofirving.org.
If you have any questions before the workshop, feel free to contact him!
The workshop will be held on March 25th from 10am – 12pm, at the Valley Ranch Library - 401 Cimarron Trail, Irving, Texas.

Weiser Security Captain
The Security Captain at Hackberry Creek is tasked with the daily oversight of Gate Guard and Security operations and is responsible for scheduling and staffing all guard houses, ensuring security protocols are followed at all times. The Security Captain also monitors vehicular traffic and speeds throughout the community, issuing citations as needed and works hand-in-hand with the onsite team to ensure all residents, guest, contractors and other personnel have been appropriately screened before being granted access to the community.
