HACKBERRY CREEK NEWSFLASH

May 6th, 2023

Dear Residents,

At the request of the neighborhood to curtail the perceived speeding issue on our village streets along with the ability to monitor incidents 24/7, the Board approved the purchase of three radar cameras. These cameras have been installed, calibrated, and are up and operational. The locations are on Southern Oak by the Park, on the Bridge near Gate 1, and on the Bridge near Gate 4.

The intention of the installation of radar cameras is to change behavior regarding speeding - not to generate revenue. No fines are being issued by these three radar cameras at this time

Courtesy notices (no fines) will be going out approximately mid-month in order to give the community offenders an opportunity to alter their driving behavior, if needed. This grace period is also a good opportunity to educate/remind guests and visitors on our speed limits to avoid future fines.

Beginning July 1, 2023, we will issue fines in compliance with the HOA Traffic Fine Schedule for any speeding offenses captured by these three radar cameras.

BOARD BUDGET WORKSHOPS

The Board of Directors voted to open up their deliberations on the 2023-2024 budget to the community. The next budget workshop will be held Monday, May 8th at 12 noon. Homeowners are welcome to view the workshop and listen via Zoom (only). Due to the limited time available there will be no homeowner comment, chat, messaging or questions during the session.

However, a new website forum category has been created to allow homeowners to post questions, comments or suggestions concerning the budget during the budget process. Board members will review comments and take into conideration during their work on the budget. The budget forum category will remain open until the final budget is formally approved.
