Haight Community Votes for Love

Following a months-long renaming process, the Haight Elementary School communty voted on November 14 to change the school's name to "Love Elementary School." The committee's next step is to present the name to the superintendent. If he approves the name, he will present it to the Board of Education. You can read more in this article.
AUSD Schools Send Hope, Books, and Art to Paradise

Teachers and classes across the island have been sending books, supplies, art, and messages of encouragement to school staff and children who lost their homes and schools in Paradise, California. Read more here.
More Time to Sign Up for Toys!

The Alameda Food Bank has extended the deadline for signing up to receive toys to Saturday, December 15. Low-income families are also invited to sign up for free toys at Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday, December 8, from 10 AM to 2 PM.
