Dear Pender Family,
It is hard to believe that we are near the end of Pastor Marg’s tour with Pender. But we are in her eleventh hour. The official transition to Pastor Will White will occur at high noon on June 30. Pastor Marg’s last Sunday with us will be July 5.
What a ride we have had under her spiritual guidance! She has been instrumental in putting Pender on a positive trajectory notwithstanding many trials.
We survived a change in worship schedules, the effects of a global pandemic that may have caused us to shut our doors but not our hearts for worship, and the transformation of our worship practices to take advantage of technology to bridge the “stay-at-home” gap between us.
She re-introduced Stephen Ministries to us as an important care-giving ministry. She was the face of comfort to our families who lost loved ones, like Beryl and Katie this past week, while the congregation waits for the easing of meeting restrictions to celebrate the lives of our saints.
She resurrected the Confirmation class that led to six new members on Pentecost. And the list goes on and on as she has tirelessly pursued her calling on our behalf and in service to Christ Jesus.
It is time for us to say thank you.
You have three opportunities in addition to any personal thank-you’s you may offer:
1 – You can make a love offering designated for her - Use Love Offering Gift in the memo of your check or
online giving

2 – You can participate in a drive by parade at Pender church to make a fuss over her after her last Sunday in the pulpit – July 5.
3 – You can provide input for an album we are making for her as a parting gift. The album will consist of pictures and notes from the congregation. We will be incorporating pictures of Pender families as you have seen them at the beginning of our worship services, and we would love to supplement that with any pictures of your family you would like to provide.
Please provide these as 4x6 prints to Kelly Lucero (10666 John Ayres Dr, Fairfax 22032) along with any personal notes on 4x6 paper you would like to have included.
We will be making a similar album to welcome Pastor Will. Keep him in mind for any personal notes to go with your picture(s).
And one more parade – July 12 after the second service.
We have been so blessed, and we are poised for a period of growth and stability. Praise God!
