The Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) was thrilled to announce the Hale Kamaʻāina Mortgage Program in December. This program is designed to expand access to affordable homeownership opportunities across the State of Hawaii. An initial $30 million is available to finance mortgage loans for eligible first-time homebuyers through the program, with plans to issue subsequent funds in the future.

To support lenders in successfully originating and delivering loans under this new program, HHFDC and eHousingPlus, the program administrator, are offering two separate live lender training sessions, one focused on program details and one focused on system navigation.

Hale Kamaʻāina Mortgage Program Training

This session will provide an overview of the Hale Kamaʻāina Mortgage Program and will walk lenders through key program requirements to help set you and your borrowers up for success. If you have already attended program training there is no need to attend again.

  • Loan features and benefits
  • Key compliance considerations

Attendance is strongly encouraged, regardless of enrollment status with HHFDC’s program. All lender personnel,  particularly processing, underwriting, and post-closing staff are welcome. A strong understanding of both the program guidelines and the eHousingPlus systems can prevent delays, minimize follow-up conditions, and support timely loan purchases.
