Economic Development records 13 New Williston Works Podcasts

Williston Economic Development - Williston Economic Development Executive Director Shawn Wenko hosted 13 new Williston Works podcasts on July 9 and 10. The new podcasts will feature business owners and entrepreneurs from the Williston trade region. The podcasts will be released later this year. Stay tuned!
Williston Enplanements continue to Rise
Williston Economic Development - Williston passenger enplanements continue to climb. In June, there were 8,009 passenger boardings compared to 6,273 in June of 2018. The new Williston Basin International Airport is on track to open October 10. Check out the most recent XWA Newsletter here.
Halliburton celebrates 100th Anniversary, HalWest Grand Opening

Williston Herald - Halliburton is a well-known brand in the oilfield industry... and on Wednesday, July 10, the industry giant gathered with some of its nearly 1,000 employees and community members to celebrate not only its 100th year as a company, but its new home in the old Baker Hughes facility, where it has built a much larger cement plant. Read More
Construction begins on Seed Cleaning Facility at Williston Research Extension Center

Williston Herald -  New pledges for a seed cleaning facility at Williston Research Extension Center tallied up quickly late Wednesday afternoon. More than $250,000 from various entities was pledged for a plant expected to take the region's Foundation Seed Program to new heights.  Richland County Commissioner Duane Mitchell was first up at the mic, with a $50,000 check from Richland County in Montana.  Read More

Grace & Glam to open on Main Street July 16

Williston Economic Development - A Williston boutique store will celebrate its grand opening at a new location on Tuesday, July 16. Grace & Glam is moving from the Harvest Plaza to Downtown Williston. Owner Mechelle Mortenson says the festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with grand opening and social hour, style show at 7 p.m. plus music and more!  "We brought this building back to life and we want to celebrate," said Mortenson. "We are looking forward to the foot traffic and being a part of the downtown vibe." 
TrainND celebrates Grand Opening of One Basin - One Way! Program

Williston Economic Development - TrainND Northwest celebrated the grand opening of its One Basin - One Way! program on July 11. 
Earlier this year, the North Dakota Petroleum Council announced the launch of One Basin - One Way!, a standardized contractor safety orientation program.

McKenzie County gives $3 Million to Six School Districts

McKenzie County Farmer -  Christmas came in July for school districts in McKenzie County with the McKenzie County Commissioners playing Santa Claus. During their July 2 meeting, the commissioners decided to split an additional $3 million between the six school districts in the county from the county's Bankhead-Jones funds.  For the full story, subscribe to the McKenzie County Farmer

Williston Economic Development - Western Region Economic Development held its second annual Connecting Communities BBQ on July 9 in Grenora. The wet weather didn't dampen spirits as a large crowd gathered at the new Grenora City Hall for a free luncheon, fellowship and live Cherry Creek Radio broadcast.
