Halloween Happiness at Bronson Children's Hospital

We're starting off this newsletter with a little Halloween fun! Bronson's child life, art and music therapy teams, along with the NICU parent liaison and entire Bronson Children's Hospital staff put a lot of heart into making Halloween special for patients and families. Many Bronson staff members from across the system also join in on the Halloween fun, too.

These celebrations are made possible thanks to donors who support Bronson Health Foundation's Children's Hospital Fund. These are the "little things" that actually make a big difference for families who find themselves spending special occasions in the hospital.

Advancing Healthcare Careers in Calhoun County

A new scholarship opportunity for Bronson employees is now available through the generosity of the Bronson Battle Creek Volunteers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to this group for their unwavering dedication to Bronson Battle Creek, its employees and the greater Calhoun County community. Their hard work has led to the establishment of the Bronson-Kellogg Community College scholarship program, which will provide $10,000 in scholarships annually for Bronson employees who live or work in Calhoun County. We hope this opportunity will inspire continued growth and education of our talented employees interested in advancing their healthcare careers.

Bronson employees, please watch your email for details coming soon from Human Resources.

Summit Achieved!

Bronson’s chief financial officer, Becky East, took on an incredible challenge last month and summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro! We are so grateful to her for choosing to support Bronson Children’s Hospital with every step she took to get to the top. Thanks to generous donors and East’s own matching gift, more than $30,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospital Fund.

“The entire endeavor was definitely the most challenging thing I’ve done from a physical standpoint,” says East. It took six days and five nights to summit the 19,341 ft. mountain. “When I reached the summit, I felt grateful, I felt humbled, I felt happiness and exhilaration! It meant a lot to me to be able to raise funds for Bronson Children’s Hospital and I was overwhelmed by the encouragement and generosity of friends, family, colleagues, and businesses. The donors inspired me to do my best and helped me take additional steps when I was feeling exhausted on my journey to the summit!”
