1.Carry a flashlight

2.Trick or treat in groups of 3 or more

3.Do not enter an unfamiliar home

4.Walk, don't run

5.Stay on sidewalks

6.Obey traffic signals

7.Stay in familiar neighborhoods

8.Don't cut across yards or driveways

9.Wear a watch you can read in the dark

10. Make sure costumes don't drag on the ground

11.  Shoes should fit (even if they don't go with your costume)

12. Avoid wearing masks while walking from house to house

13. Carry only flexible knives, swords, or other props

14. (if no sidewalk) walk on the left side of the road facing traffic

15. Wear clothing with reflective markings or tape

16. Approach only houses that are lit

17. Stay away from and don't pet animals you don't know

18. Don't eat any candy until your parents have inspected the wrapper
