Spread the Warmth Coat Drive
is underway!
It's time to spread the warmth again, La Vista!

Our annual coat drive kicks off tomorrow with the goal of having coats, hats and gloves in the hands of kids in our community as soon as possible!

We have collection locations throughout the community, including all City facilities.

See the full list and more at CityofLaVista.org/SpreadtheWarmth.
A Closer Look at Central Park Virtual Presentation
The City has launched a series of videos containing information and updates related to various projects underway or soon to take place in Central Park.

Learn more about the trails, Central Park projects, the 84th Street underpass, plans for the Kelly Fields area, the swimming pool and much more.

Please watch each video below and then we want to hear from you!

In order to answer your questions and hear from you, the City will host a public open house on Tuesday, October 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the La Vista Community Center.

Representatives will be available to answer questions on all of the projects identified in the videos. And residents are encouraged to attend to learn more and provide valuable input.

Halloween Safe Night
Grab-n-Go Edition
Sunday, October 31 | 3-5 p.m.
City Hall & Community Center parking lots
(8116 Park View Blvd.)

La Vista’s Halloween Safe Night will be a drive-thru event, similar to the pandemic-friendly 2020 version. With public health conditions still uncertain and vaccines not approved for the younger age groups that our event is meant for, the City felt it safe and prudent to host another drive-thru event.

This year’s event will take place on the City Hall Campus and feature grab-n-go treat bags and some other fun surprises!

Vehicles will enter the event from 81st Street off Park View Boulevard and follow directional signs and exit on westbound Park View Blvd. This event is open to all La Vista residents, and treats will be available while supplies last.

For more information, visit CityofLaVista.org/2021Events.
Zoo passes available
with La Vista Library card!
The La Vista Public Library and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium are partnering to provide zoo passes to any current card holders!

Adults ages 18+ who are La Vista residents or have a non-resident paid membership to La Vista Public Library are eligible to check out a zoo pass.

Library accounts in good standing are eligible and zoo passes are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Accounts that have expired or will expire during the session printed on the zoo pass will need to be renewed and overdue fees will need to be less than $10.

Due to the popularity and limited number of zoo passes, passes will not be held or reserved. A zoo pass is good for one-time use, only one pass per library card and patron can be issued, admitting up to two adults and six children.

A zoo pass must be presented at the zoo along with a current La Vista Public Library card.

La Vista residents who do not currently have a library card are able to visit the library to obtain a library card. A valid driver’s license or utility bill are needed to sign up for a library card. If you have questions, please visit us at 9110 Giles Road, give us a call at 402.537.3900 or send us an e-mail at [email protected].

See you at the library where you can grow your point of view!
