Watch CBBA's 2020 Virtual Candidate Forum Before You Head to the Polls!

On Thursday, October 8, the Cutler Bay Business Association held their 2020 Virtual Candidate Forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you missed the event, click the link below to view the local candidates running for office speak about their ideas and vision for our community. The times of when each of the seven races begin are indicated below:
  • 8:20 - State Representative District 114 (Demi Busatta Cabrera and Jean Pierre Bado)
  • 19:18 - Representatives in Congress District 27 (Donna Shalala—Not in attendace: Maria Elvira Salazar)
  • 41:10 - Miami-Dade County Mayor (Esteban Bovo and Daniella Levine Cava)
  • 1:08:03 - State Senator District 37 (Jose Javier Rodriguez—Not in attendance: Ileana Garcia and Alex Rodriguez)
  • 1:21:50 - School Board Member District 9 (Dennis C. Moss, Luisa Santos)
  • 1:46:47 - Town of Cutler Bay Vice Mayor (Michael Callahan—Not in attendance: Sean Salazar, David Zoll)

Active Adults! Due to the success of our last virtual painting class, we're doing it again! Join us on Thursday, October 29, on Zoom for a virtual painting class. Limited to the first 15 *Active Adults who RSVP.

Paint kits will be provided and must be picked up on Tuesday, October 27, at Cutler Ridge Park (10100 sw 200 street). You will be provided with a pick up time once RSVP is confirmed.

*Active Adults series of events are designed for Town Residents aged 55 and over.
CUTLER BAY'S 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY STORY SPOTLIGHT
Mission: Incorporation

Nancy McCue, her husband Ed, and resident John Sykes led the way in the Town of Cutler Bay’s Incorporation as Chair, Co-Chair and Treasurer of the Cutler Ridge Steering Committee. Nancy recounts how the mission to incorporate was born and of the many residents that worked hard to achieve this goal.

Enough is Enough was the battle cry for several residents who were tired of their community being the dumping ground for the county’s undesirable projects. For my husband, Ed McCue, John Sykes, and me, it was the beginning of an eight-year odyssey culminating with the incorporation of the town of Cutler Bay.
County Reopens Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The County has announced that they ahve reopened their Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), which provides rental payment assistance for up three months but no more than $5,000 total to families experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications are accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.
