Milton Transit is inviting riders of its Route 21-Steeles to participate in a survey aimed at gathering important information to help improve the transit system. This route runs between Milton GO Station and Lisgar GO Station, with stops at the Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills and the Amazon Fulfillment Centre YYZ3 on Winston Churchill Boulevard. Participants of the quick five-minute survey will be automatically entered for a chance to win a January Milton Transit Monthly Pass. The survey will be open for feedback until December 3, 2025. | |

Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.
The program provides wage subsidies to support employers from not-for-profit organizations and the public sector, as well as private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for youth aged 15 to 30 years.

FedDev Ontario Funding Available for Local Businesses
Local businesses are invited to apply for FedDev Ontario funding to help grow your business. FedDev is looking for projects in priority areas such as clean economic growth, growth companies, technology, industrial transition, and automotive suppliers.
Applications can be submitted for no-interest, repayable contributions from $125,000 up to $10 million per project for incorporated businesses that:
- Develop, commercialize or produce innovative products, processes and services
- Improve productivity, capacity and competitiveness
- Scale-up and expand to develop new business opportunities, enter new markets, or reach new customers

Application Intake Now Open for the Labour Force Management Strategies Initiative
The governments of Canada and Ontario have created the Labour Force Management Strategies Initiative to attract and retain Ontario agri-food workers. Funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, this up to $4 million investment will strengthen Ontario’s agri-food workforce for years to come. The initiative is currently accepting applications from eligible primary producers, processors and industry organizations until September 2, 2025, or when available funding is fully committed – whichever comes first.

Indigenous Tourism Fund Micro and Small Business Stream
This funding program recognizes market readiness standards set by The Original Accreditation Program, taking into account factors such as resource availability, cash flow, and market dynamics. Its primary objective is to provide support to Indigenous tourism operators, offering funding of up to $25,000 per business to enhance their operations across six crucial categories:
- Effective community engagement and support
- Excellence in visitor experience
- Ensuring health, safety, and comfort
- Practicing sustainable indigenous tourism
- Excellence in marketing and visitor services

Increased Investment in the Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative (OAFRI)
The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing an additional $3.5 million in the Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative (OAFRI) to support the development and adoption of new technologies for farmers, food processors and agri-businesses that will enhance their competitiveness and growth. Funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), this additional intake will support investments in the applied research, pilot and demonstration, and knowledge translation and transfer streams.
