Hamilton employers: Get ready for the Employer One Survey!

The Employer One Survey (formerly known as the Hire Learning Survey) is an outstanding opportunity for local employers, like you, to share their hiring needs, challenges, and plans for the future with Workforce Planning Hamilton.

By taking the time to answer the survey you help to build a strong local workforce as the information that you provide is shared with job seekers and the agencies that aid them, as well as the community.

Employer One is open from January 4 - 31, 2016 and the survey link will be posted in our newsletter on December 17th, as well as be featured on our site at www.workforceplanninghamilton.ca

If you have any questions about Employer One please contact Judy Travis, Executive Director, WPH at 905-521-5777 or by email: [email protected]
Study reports that a growing proportion of university grads are overqualified for their jobs

A growing proportion of recent university graduates - as much as 40% - face the potential frustration of being overqualified for their jobs, a new report has revealed.

An analysis, released recently by the federal parliamentary budget office, also found the rate of young graduates holding down jobs that match their education level had dropped.
Improve the psychological health of your workplace: It's the right thing to do

The time has come for organizations to prioritize psychological health and safety. This will take good governance and education. It will take boards asking for reports on employee health and leaders asking their employees difficult questions and listening to the answers. It will take some courage and backbone. It will take some dedicated resources and some self reflection.

The good news is that there are many tools available to help organizations that are free or low cost.
