Did you know?

There were 6,486 online job vacancies from April-June 2015; this is up 30% from the same time last year

Top 5 online employers include: McMaster, Shoppers Drug Mart, City of Hamilton, Walmart, Mohawk.

Top 5 occupational groups include: Sales and Service; Health; Business, Finance and Administrative; Management; Trades, Transport, Equipment Operators and Related.


Be part of Lifelong Learning Week, September 20-26, 2015
 

The Adult Basic Education Association (ABEA) exists to improve the quality of life in Hamilton through the promotion and support of lifelong learning.   

Lifelong Learning Week (LLW) showcases different learning opportunities available in our community.  Whether you learn about a new business or service, new skill or hobby, or even a possible career change there is something for everyone, for all ages during LLW.   Last year nearly 65, 000 people participated in free learning events.  

Lifelong Learning Week takes place from September 20th to 26th this year.

Registration closes July 31st, 2015.

Ways to get involved:  

  • Host a free event by planning an activity (e.g. recreation activity, craft, skill, hobby, information session, workshop, seminars)
  • Holding in-house professional development for your staff
If an agency/business hosts a free event during LLW, the event details are advertised in a special Hamilton Spectator insert for free! 

Participate in Events
Learn something new and encourage your staff and clients to participate.
