It's All About the Flowers
|Black Iris Florist & Incredible Edibles Bakery
When planning a garden wedding, it's all about the flowers! There are so many ways to incorporate beautiful florals into your wedding. Here are just a few ideas:
The cake: When choosing a cake design, think about how you can incorporate your favorite florals into the design. You can opt to have your baker make edible flowers for your cake or have your florist provide some extra flowers that you can have your baker add to your cake. It's a great way to not only add the flowers you love, but also the colors you love. If the flowers you love aren't in season, you can easily add them to your decor by having your baker create them for you.
Ceremony space: Not only can you have beautiful bouquets, but you can also have an insanely stunning floral arch for your ceremony space. You can also line the aisle with flower petals (just ask your florist!).
Centerpieces: Centerpieces are the most obvious way to incorporate flowers into your decor. Whether you opt for low vases or tall, elaborate centerpieces, this is a great way to go all out with flowers. When in doubt, just add more flowers! A garden weddings is the perfect excuse.
Bridal Party Style: Patterned dresses, especially a floral design, is a growing trend that we love! Have your bridesmaids (or maybe just your maid of honor to let her stand out) wear a beautiful floral print in the colors you love. Another option is a floral crown or even floral shoes!
Here is a list of some of our favorite florists in Hampton Roads. If you're looking to cut costs, talk to your florist about what flowers are in season. For example, tulips, peonies, azaleas, and daffodils are typically in season in the spring while
anemones, cornflowers, and sunflowers tend to be in season later in the year.
