A minimalist wedding is the perfect style for the bride who loves a simple, clean, sophisticated look. There are so many ways to achieve this style, but it is really about the bride staying true to their personal vision and not letting the parade of colors and florals and extra wedding details cloud her vision. But where do you even start when planning a minimalist wedding?

A chic venue: A downtown venue like Hilton Norfolk the Main is the perfect spot for a minimalist wedding. A more urban setting tends to be more fitting for a sophisticated style.

Invitations: The perfect minimalist invitation will set the stage for the overall theme and decor. Geometric designs, a simple font, and neutral color scheme are great for a minimalist invitation. Black or navy are great neutral colors to use for the print.

Decor: Keep your decor simple. Candles, neutral color schemes, and simple flower arrangements are a great way to achieve a minimalist reception space. Neutrals colors can be whites and creams or even black or navy blue.

The Cake House

Colorful, vibrant, cakes covered in flowers are perfect for some brides, but the minimalist bride is probably looking for something a little more simple. A clean, white cake with a few neutral flowers on top is perfect for her vision. To add some visual interest, you can ask your baker to add texture to the tiers or supply a fun cake topper! Here are a few of our favorite bakers:

Simple Ceremony & Reception Decor

The Water Table

With minimalist decor, less is more! But that doesn't mean your decor has to be boring or not beautiful. The key is having a blank canvas. When you're looking at spaces for your reception, try to choose one that has a neutral color scheme. A patterned carpet or bold, colorful walls, may take away from the clean, chic look you're trying to achieve. Here are just a few fun ways to incorporate a minimalist style into your reception space.

The Perfect Gown for the Minimalist Bride

Sincerity Bridal from Avenir Bridal

Lace, embellishments, bling- they also make us turn our heads, but there is something so chic and classically beautiful about a minimalist wedding gown. It's like a blank canvas- a simple, clean fabric that really lets the bride's natural beauty shine. We love satin for a minimalist bridal gown. It's very traditional, but can also be more modern with details like a different neckline or a more form fitting fit. The gown above from Avenir Bridal is stunning in its simplicity. The off the shoulder style makes it stand out even more. The gown below from Blush Bridal has the smooth satin on top, with a flowing skirt. It's a great combination of minimalist and romantic.

Jessica and Doug's Signature at West Neck wedding had so many minimalist elements! From her stunning satin gown to the simple white florals, every detail was chic and classic. The ceremony space was decorated with tall, clear vases with white flowers and candles. It was the perfect addition to the space without taking away from the natural beauty of the venue.

The tent was decorated with beautiful drapery and the tables were kept simple with low, white flowers as centerpieces. The place settings were gold and white and beautifully minimalist. Paired with gold chairs and clean, white table cloths, it was such a beautiful table scape.
