Every child deserves a voice, and CASA invites the community to unite for abused and neglected children on April 10 at the annual Hands Around the Courthouse (HATCH) event. Taking place at the Kane County Courthouse in Geneva at 12 p.m., this gathering acts as a powerful reminder of the need to protect vulnerable children and raise awareness about the effects of child abuse.

To remind our community that everyone can do his or her part to prevent child abuse, CASA is seeking to blanket Kane County with Child Abuse Prevention Month signs for April. Signs are available at the CASA office; contact RoseD@casakanecounty.org to arrange for pick up.

5 Ways You Can Help Raise Awareness!

  1. Attend HATCH or an upcoming General Information Meeting
  2. Place a Yard Sign at your home, take a picture, post on your socials and tag CASA Kane County
  3. Wear Blue on Friday, April 4th, 2025, to show your support of Child Abuse Prevention Month
  4. Post HATCH flyer at your church, neighborhood retailer, or other community board
  5. Like, comment, and share CASA's social media posts throughout the month of April

A Joyous Adoption Story ❤️

We are so happy to share the news of a finalized adoption! This case began with one of our dedicated GALs, Cheryl, advocating for the child from the very start. The child entered care shortly after birth and was placed in a loving foster home.

Cheryl remained committed every step of the way - making monthly visits, attending court hearings, and ensuring the child was in a safe environment.

Thank you to Cheryl, for your hard work and dedication, and to the wonderful foster parents, for providing a forever home!

We are honored to announce that CASA Kane County has been voted 2024 Top Nonprofit Organization to Work for in Kane County! ✅

Welcome Elizabeth Serediuk - Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator

With over 12 years dedicated to community service, Elizabeth has worn many hats - each one reflecting a deep commitment to helping others. From serving as a Victim Advocate in the Domestic Violence Unit at the State’s Attorney’s Office to working as a Children’s Case Manager at the Community Crisis Center in Elgin, her passion for advocacy has never wavered.

Elizabeth has also led domestic violence training for Kane County’s deferred prosecution program, helping first-time, non-violent offenders understand the impact of their actions. After a brief transition into the private finance sector, she returned to the State’s Attorney’s Office, taking on a multifaceted role as a Case Manager, Victim Advocate, Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator, and Outreach & Prevention Specialist. Elizabeth’s passion for service ultimately led her to CASA, where she continues to make a difference in the lives of children and families.

Born in New York, Elizabeth spent part of her childhood in Argentina before returning to the U.S. and later heading back to Argentina for her studies. Bilingual and well-versed in finance (despite not enjoying numbers!), she brings a unique and worldly perspective to CASA.

Elizabeth loves spending time with her family, taking care of her two dogs and two cats, traveling, and gardening.
