Hannah’s House is a community-supported Vermont based nonprofit mental health and resource center dedicated to promoting emotional and mental health for children, teens, families and individuals. It provides local, accessible counseling services in Waterbury, Waitsfield and on local school campuses, community outreach through education, financial assistance, and alternative therapies such as neurofeedback brain training.
As a small organization, Hannah's House is able to respond quickly to local emergencies such as the tragic loss of five teenagers in 2016 and the more recent COVID pandemic, when therapists quickly pivoted to telemedicine providing over 4,000 hours of counseling in 2020.
Examples of meeting the communities needs in 2021:
- Partnering with schools to provide viewings of "Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER"
- Providing educational workshops in-person and virtually via Zoom and local access television
- Sponsoring a 7th & 8th grade weekly support group
- Providing an ongoing bereavement group for adults
- Provide scholarships for local youth enrichment programs
- Free loan program of Verilux Happy Lights to address seasonal disorder
- Direct financial assistance for therapy sessions
